This will be a thread where translations of individual Riwayat from Rijal al-Kashi are assembled randomly, until the whole book is translated insha Allah.

حمدويه و إبراهيم، قالا حدثنا أيوب بن نوح، قال أخبرنا حنان، عن عقبة بن بشير الأسدي، قال : دخلت على أبي جعفر (عليه السلام) فقلت له إني من الحسب الضخم من قومي، و إن قومي كان لهم عريف فهلك فأرادوا أن يعرفوني عليهم فما ترى لي قال، فقال أبو جعفر (عليه السلام) تمن علينا بحسبك إن الله تعالى رفع بالإيمان من كان الناس سموه وضيعا إذا كان مؤمنا، و وضع بالكفر من كان يسمونه شريفا إذا كان كافرا، فليس لأحد على أحد فضل إلا بتقوى الله، و أما قولك إن قومي كان لهم عريف فهلك فأرادوا أن يعرفوني عليهم فإن كنت تكره الجنة و تبغضها فتعرف على قومك، يأخذ سلطان جائر بامرئ مسلم يسفك دمه فتشركهم في دمه، و عسى أن لا تنال من دنياهم شيئا

358. Hamdawayh AND Ibrahim both of whom said: narrated to us Ayyub bin Nuh who said: reported to us Hannan from Uqba bin Bashir al-Asadiy who said: I entered upon Abi Ja'far  عليه السلام, so I said to him - I am of a weighty status within my tribe (i.e. in regards lineage), and my tribe had a chief who passed away, so they wanted to appoint me as the new chief over them, so what do you say about that? so Abu Ja'far عليه السلام said: you seek to impress us by your pedigree! verily Allah has elevated by Iman the one whom the people used to consider base if he is a Mu'min, and has lowered by Kufr the one whom the people used to consider esteemed if he is a Kafir, so there is not for someone over the other any merit except by the Taqwa of Allah, as for your saying 'my people had a chief who passed away, and they wanted to appoint me as the new chief over them' then if you dislike Jannah and hate it then accept that position, for a tyrant ruler will take an innocent Muslim man and shed his blood, so you will also play a part in his killing, and moreover, it may also happen that you do not reap anything from their world (i.e. and its riches).

حدثني محمد بن مسعود، قال حدثني علي بن محمد بن فيروزان القمي، قال أخبرني محمد بن أحمد بن يحيى، عن العباس بن معروف، عن الحجال، عن أبي مريم الأنصاري، قال، : قال لي أبو جعفر (عليه السلام) قل لسلمة بن كهيل و الحكم بن عتيبة شرقا أو غربا لن تجدا علما صحيحا إلا شيئا خرج من عندنا أهل البيت

369. Narrated to me Muhammad bin Masud who said: narrate to me Ali bin Muhammad bin Fayruzan al-Qummiy who said: reported to me Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Yahya from al-Abbas bin Ma'ruf from al-Hajjal from Abi Maryam al-Ansari who said: Abi Ja'far عليه السلام said to Salama bin Kuhayl and al-Hakam bin Utayba - (go) east or west, you will not find correct knowledge except something that has originated from us - the Ahl al-Bayt.

ذكر أبو القاسم نصر بن الصباح، عن الفضل بن شاذان، قال : دخلت على محمد بن أبي عمير، و هو ساجد فأطال السجود، فلما رفع رأسه و ذكر له طول سجوده، قال كيف و لو رأيت جميل بن دراج ثم حدثه أنه دخل على جميل بن دراج فوجده ساجدا فأطال السجود جدا فلما رفع رأسه قال محمد بن أبي عمير أطلت السجود فقال لو رأيت معروف بن خربوذ

373. Mentioned Abu al-Qasim Nasr bin al-Sabah from al-Fadhl bin Shadhan who said: I entered upon Muhammad bin Abi Umayr and found him to be in Sajdah, so he lengthened the Sajdah, so when he had raised his head (from the Sajdah), and it was mentioned to him the length of his Sajdah - he said: what will you say if you had seen Jamil bin Darraj, then he narrated that he had entered upon Jamil bin Darraj and found him in Sajdah, so he (i.e. Jamil) lengthened the Sajdah excessively, so when he had raised his head - Muhammad bin Abi Umayr said to him: you have lengthened the Sajdah - so he (i.e. Jamil) said: if only you had seen Ma'ruf bin Khurbudh.

حدثنا حمدويه و إبراهيم، قالا حدثنا محمد بن عيسى، عن إبراهيم بن عبد الله، قال : كان أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام) إذا رأى الفضيل بن يسار قال بَشِّرِ الْمُخْبِتِينَ من أحب أن يرى رجلا من أهل الجنة فلينظر إلى هذا

377. Narrated to us Hamdawayh and Ibrahim both of whom said: narrated to us Muhammad bin Isa from Ibrahim bin Abdallah who said: When Abu Abdillah عليه السلام used to see al-Fudhayl bin Yasar he used to say: 'give glad tidings to the humble' (22:34), the one who wants to see a man from the people from Jannah - then he should look at this one.

حدثني محمد بن قولويه، قال حدثني سعد بن عبد الله بن أبي خلف، عن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن بكر بن صالح، عن الحسن بن علي، عن إسماعيل بن عبد العزيز، عن أبيه، قال، : دخلت أنا و أبو بصير على أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) ، فقال له أبو بصير جعلني الله فداك إن لنا صديقا و هو رجل صدق يدين الله بما ندين به، فقال من هذا يا أبا محمد الذي تزكيه فقال العباس بن الوليد بن صبيح، فقال يرحم الله الوليد بن صبيح

579. Narrated to me Muhammad bin Qulawayh who said: narrated to me Sad bin Abdallah bin Abi Khalaf from Ibrahim bin Hashim from Bakr bin Salih from al-Hasan bin Ali from Ismail bin Abd al-Aziz from his father who said: I entered - me and Abu Basir - upon Abi Abdillah عليه السلام, so Abu Basir said to him: may I be made your ransom, we do have a friend, and he is a man of truth, who is upon the Diin which we are upon (i.e. Tashayyu), so He عليه السلام said: who is this man whom you praise - O Abu Muhammad? so he said: al-Abbas bin al-Walid bin Sabih, so he عليه السلام said: may Allah have mercy on al-Walid bin Sabih.

حدثني محمد بن قولويه، قال حدثني سعد بن عبد الله القمي، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن عمر بن عبد العزيز، عن جميل، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال، : ذكرنا أبان بن تغلب عند أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) ، فقال رحمه الله أما و الله لقد أوجع قلبي موت أبان

601. Narrated to me Muhammad bin Qulawayh who said: narrated to me Sad bin Abdallah al-Qummiy from Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Isa from Umar bin Abd al-Aziz from Jamil from Abi Abdillah عليه السلام, he (Jamil) said: we mentioned Aban bin Taghlib to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام, so He عليه السلام said: may Allah have mercy on him, by Allah - the death of Aban has saddened my heart.

حدثني جعفر بن معروف، قال حدثني يعقوب بن يزيد، عن محمد بن عذافر، عن عمر بن يزيد، قال، : قال، لي أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام) يا ابن يزيد أنت و الله منا أهل البيت قلت له جعلت فداك من آل محمد قال إي و الله من أنفسهم، قلت من أنفسهم قال إي و الله من أنفسهم يا عمر، أ ما تقرأ كتاب الله عز و جل إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِإِبْراهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ وَ هذَا النَّبِيُّ وَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَ اللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

605. Narrated to me Ja'far bin Ma'ruf who said: narrated to me Yaqub bin Yazid from Muhammad bin Udhafir from Umar bin Yazid who said: Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said to me: O the son of Yazid, you are by Allah from us the Ahl al-Bayt, I said to him: may I be made your ransom - from Al Muhammad!? he said: yes by Allah, from their selves, I said: from their selves? he said: yes by Allah, from their very own selves, do you not read the book of Allah عز و جل 'those who have the best claim to Ibrahim from among the people are those who followed him - and this prophet, and those who believe, and Allah is the guardian of the believers' (3:68)

علي بن محمد، قال حدثني محمد بن عبد الجبار، عن أبي طالب القمي، قال : كتبت إلى أبي جعفر (عليه السلام) بأبيات شعر، و ذكرت فيها أباه، و سألته أن يأذن لي في أن أقول فيه فقطع الشعر و حبسه، و كتب في صدر ما بقي من القرطاس قد أحسنت فجزاك الله خيرا

451. Ali bin Muhammad who said: narrated to me Muhammad bin Abd al-Jabbar from Abi Talib al-Qummiy who said: I wrote to Abi Ja'far عليه السلام with verses of poetry, eulogizing in them his fathers, and I also asked him to permit me to compose about him, so he cut out the poem and kept it for himself, and wrote at the beginning of what was left (of the parchment) - you have done well, so may Allah reward you with good.  

حدثني جعفر بن محمد، قال حدثني علي بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، قال حدثني عبد الرحمن بن أبي نجران، قال حدثني أبو هارون، قال : كنت ساكنا دار الحسن بن الحسين، فلما علم انقطاعي إلى أبي جعفر و أبي عبد الله (عليهما السلام) أخرجني من داره، قال فمر بي أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام) فقال لي يا أبا هارون بلغني أن هذا أخرجك من داره قال : قلت نعم جعلت فداك، قال بلغني أنك كنت تكثر فيها تلاوة كتاب الله تعالى، و الدار إذا تلي فيها كتاب الله تعالى كان لها نور ساطع في السماء تعرف من بين الدور

395. Narrated to me Ja'far bin Muhammad who said: narrated to me Ali bin al-Hasan bin al-Fadhal who said: narrated to me Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Najran who said: narrated to me Abu Harun who said: I used to live in the house of al-Hasan bin al-Husayn (i.e. from the progeny of Imam al-Hasan), so when he came to know my adherance to Abi Ja'far and Abi Abdillah عليهما السلام he kicked me out of his house, then Abu Abdillah عليه السلام passed by me (i.e. in the streets) and said: O Abu Harun, I have been informed that this one has banished you from his house, I said: yes, it is true, may I be made your ransom, then he عليه السلام said: I have also been informed that you used to recite the book of Allah alot while you were in that house, (know that) a house in which the book of Allah is recited emits a bright light which reaches heaven, it (i.e. that house) can be identified from among the houses (i.e. through that light).  

محمد بن مسعود قال كتب إلى الفضل بن شاذان، يذكر عن ابن أبي عمير، عن إبراهيم بن عبد الحميد، قال : حججت و سكين النخعي فتعبد و ترك النساء و الطيب و الثياب و الطعام الطيب و كان لا يرفع رأسه داخل المسجد إلى السماء فلما قدم المدينة دنا من أبي إسحاق فصلى إلى جانبه فقال جعلت فداك إني أريد أن أسألك، عن مسائل قال اذهب فاكتبها و أرسل ها إلي، فكتب جعلت فداك رجل دخله الخوف من الله عز و جل حتى ترك النساء و الطعام الطيب و لا يقدر أن يرفع رأسه إلى السماء و أما الثياب فشك فيها، فكتب أما قولك في ترك النساء فقد علمت ما كان لرسول الله من النساء، و أما قولك في ترك الطعام الطيب فقد كان رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) يأكل اللحم و العسل، و أما قولك إنه دخله الخوف حتى لا يستطيع أن يرفع رأسه إلى السماء فليكثر من تلاوة هذه الآيات الصَّابِرِينَ وَ الصَّادِقِينَ وَ الْقانِتِينَ وَ الْمُنْفِقِينَ وَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِالْأَسْحارِ

691. Muhammad bin Masud who said: al-Fadhl bin Shadhan wrote to me quoting from Ibn Abi Umayr from Ibrahim bin Abd al-Hamid who said: I made Hajj with Sikiyn al-Nakhai, so he became engrossed in worship, and abandoned the women, and the perfume, and the good clothes, and the good food, and he did not raise his head to the sky when in the Masjid (i.e. out of fear of Allah), so when he (Sikiyn) reached Madina (after making the Hajj), he came near to Abu Ishaq (as-Sadiq) عليه السلام and prayed by his side, then he said: may I be made your ransom, I want to ask you a few questions, He عليه السلام said: go (back to Kufah), and write them down, then send them to me, so he (Sikyn) later wrote: may I be made your ransom, fear of Allah has entered the heart of a man, until he has left the women, and the good food, and he cannot raise his head to the sky, and as for the good clothes - he is doubtful about wearing them. So He عليه السلام wrote: as to your words about leaving the women, then you are well aware about what the messenger of Allah had of women, and as for your words about leaving the good food, then know that the messenger of Allah used to eat the meat and the honey, and as for your words that fear has entered his heart until he cannot raise his head to the sky, then he should increase in the recitation of this verse 'the patient, and the true ones, and the obedient ones, and those who spend [in the way of Allah], and those who seek forgiveness by dawn' (3:17)

حدثني محمد بن مسعود، قال حدثني محمد بن أحمد النهدي الكوفي، عن معاوية بن حكيم الدهني، عن شريف بن سابق التفليسي، عن حماد السمندري، قال : قلت لأبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) إني أدخل إلى بلاد الشرك و إن من عندنا يقولون إن مت ثم حشرت معهم، قال، فقال يا حماد إذا كنت ثم تذكر أمرنا و تدعو إليه قلت بلى، قال فإذا كنت في هذه المدن مدن الإسلام تذكر أمرنا و تدعو إليه قال، قلت لا، قال، فقال لي إنك إن مت ثم حشرت أمة وحدك و سعى نورك بين يديك

635. Narrated to me Muhammad bin Masud who said: narrated to me Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Nahdiy al-Kufiy from Muawiya bin Hukaym al-Duhniy from Sharif bin Sabiq al-Taflisiy from Hammad al-Samandariy who said: I said to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام - I do enter into the lands of Shirk (i.e. where Islam has not spread), and there are some amongst us who say: 'if you were to die in their land you will be ressurected with them', he عليه السلام said: O Hammad, when you are there - do you propagate our affair and call towards it? I said: yes, he عليه السلام said: what about when you are in these cities which are the cities of Islam - do you propagate our affair and call towards it? I said: no, so he عليه السلام said to me: then if you were to die (while amongst them i.e. the Mushriks) you will be ressurected as an Ummah by yourself with your light moving about infront of you.

حمدويه بن نصير، قال حدثنا أيوب بن نوح، عن حنان بن سدير، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال : إني لأنفس على أجساد أصيبت معه يعني أبا الخطاب النار، ثم ذكر ابن الأشيم، فقال كان يأتيني فيدخل على هو و صاحبه و حفص بن ميمون و يسألوني، فأخبرهم بالحق، ثم يخرجون من عندي إلى أبي الخطاب، فيخبرهم بخلاف قولي، فيأخذون بقوله و يذرون قولي.

638. Hamdawayh bin Nasiyr who said: narrated to us Ayyub bin Nuh from Hannan bin Sadir from Abi Abdillah عليه السلام who said: I grieve over the bodies that have touched the fire with him - that is Abu al-Khattab - then he mentioned Ibn al-Ashyam, so he عليه السلام said: he used to come to me and enter my place, he and his companion Hafs bin Maymun, and ask me (i.e. questions), so I used to inform them with the truth, then they used to leave my place and go to Abi al-Khattab, so he used to inform them with the opposite of what is my position, so they used to accept his words and reject mine.

محمد بن نصير، قال حدثني محمد بن عيسى، قال حدثني يونس بن عبد الرحمن، قال، : قلت لحريز يوما، يا أبا عبد الله كم يجزيك أن تمسح من شعر رأسك في وضوء الصلاة قال بقدر ثلاث أصابع و أومأ بالسبابة و الوسطى و الثالثة، و كان يونس يذكر عنه فقها كثيرا.

616. Muhammad bin Nasiyr who said: narrated to me Muhammad bin Isa who said: narrated to me Yunus bin Abd al-Rahman who said: I said to Hariz (bin Abdallah al-Sijistani) one day - O Aba Abdillah, how do you make the Mash (wiping) of the hair of your head in the Wudhu of the Salat? he said: by three fingers, and he gestured with his forefinger, his middle finger, and his third finger, [words of someone in the chain below]: and Yunus used to relate on his authority (i.e. Hariz) a lot of Fiqh (i.e. Masail).

روى محمد بن غالب، عن علي بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن محمد بن زياد، عن فضيل بن عثمان، عن مرزوق، قال، : قلت لأبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) محمد بن قيس يقرئك السلام فقال لي محمد بن القيس الذي بينه و بين عبد الرحمن القصير قرابة قلت نعم، قال قل له أعبد الله و لا تشرك به شيئا و آمن برسوله خاتم النبيين لا نبي بعده، و أنه كان لرسول الله الطاعة المفروضة و على ابن عمه، و إياك و السمع من فلان و فلان

630. Narrated Muhammad bin Ghalib from Ali bin al-Hasan bin Fadhal from Muhammad bin Ziyad from Fudhayl bin Uthman from Marzuq who said: I said to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام - Muhammad bin Qays sends Salams to you, so he عليه السلام said: Muhammad bin al-Qays who has a relation with Abd al-Rahman bin al-Qasiyr? I said: yes, he عليه السلام said: say to him to not worship except Allah, and not to associate with Him anything, and to believe in his messenger - the seal of the prophets, there is no prophet after him, and that there was for the messenger of Allah the authority to be obeyed (granted from Allah), and also (the same authority) is for the son of his uncle (i.e. Ali), and beware of following Fulan and Fulan.

حدثني محمد بن مسعود، قال حدثني عبد الله بن محمد، عن الوشاء، قال حدثنا علي بن عقبة، عن أبيه، قال، : قلت لأبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) إن لنا خادما لا تعرف ما نحن عليه، فإذا أذنبت ذنبا و أرادت أن تحلف بيمين قالت لا و حق الذي إذا ذكرتموه بكيتم، قال، فقال رحمكم الله من أهل البيت

636. Narrated to me Muhammad bin Masud who said: narrated to me Abdallah bin Muhammad from al-Washsha who said: narrated to us Ali bin Uqba from his father who said: I said to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام - we do have a female servant who does not know anything about what we are upon (i.e. Tashayyu), but if she commits a sin from among the sins, and wants to swear an oath she says - 'No, by the right of the one whom you cry over when he is mentioned (i.e. al-Husayn عليه السلام), so he عليه السلام said: may Allah have mercy on you for our sake the Ahl al-Bayt.

حدثني حمدويه، عن أيوب بن نوح، عن صفوان بن يحيى عن أبي خالد، عن عبد الله بن ميمون، عن أبي جعفر (عليه السلام) قال : يا ابن ميمون كم أنتم بمكة قلت نحن أربعة، قال إنكم نور في ظلمات الأرض

731. Narrated to me Hamdawayh from Ayyub bin Nuh from Safwan bin Yahya from Abi Khalid from Abdallah bin Maymun from Abi Ja'far عليه السلام who said: O the son of Maymun - how many (i.e. Shias) are you in Makkah? so I said: we are four, he عليه السلام said: then you are the light in the darknesses of the earth.

حمدويه، عن محمد بن عيسى، عن صفوان، عن حماد الناب، قال : قلت لأبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) عبد الله بن أبي يعفور يقرئك السلام قال و عليه السلام

457. Hamdawayh from Muhammad bin Isa from Safwan from Hammad al-Naab who said: I said to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام - Abdallah bin Abi Ya'fur sends his Salams to you, so he عليه السلام said: and upon him Salam.

محمد بن مسعود، قال حدثني علي بن الحسن، قال حدثني محمد بن الوليد، قال حدثنا العباس بن هلال، قال، : ذكر أبو الحسن الرضا (عليه السلام) أن سفيان بن عيينة لقي أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) ، فقال له يا أبا عبد الله إلى متى هذه التقية و قد بلغت هذه السن فقال و الذي بعث محمدا بالحق لو أن رجلا صلى ما بين الركن و المقام عمره، ثم لقي الله بغير ولايتنا أهل البيت للقي الله بميتة جاهلية

735. Muhammad bin Masud who said: narrated to me Ali bin al-Hasan who said: narrated to me Muhammad bin al-Walid who said: narrated to us Abbas bin Hilal who said: Abu al-Hasan al-Ridha عليه السلام mentioned that Sufyan bin Uyayna (i.e. a great scholar of the A'mmah) met Abu Abdillah عليه السلام and said to him: O Aba Abdillah عليه السلام - for how long will this Taqiyyah continue while you have already reached this age (i.e. have become old), so he عليه السلام said: by the one who sent Muhammad with the truth, if a man were to pray between the Rukn and the Maqam all his life, then he meets Allah without our Wilayah - the Ahl al-Bayt - he will meet Allah with the death of Jahiliyyah.

و حدثني الحسين بن الحسن بن بندار، قال حدثني سعد بن عبد الله بن أبي خلف القمي، قال حدثني محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب و الحسن بن موسى الخشاب، عن صفوان بن يحيى، عن إسحاق بن عمار قال : قال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام) إن بشارا الشعيري شيطان بن شيطان خرج من البحر فأغوى أصحابي

745. And narrated to me al-Husayn bin al-Hasan bin Bundar who said: narrated to me Sad bin Abdallah bin Abi Khalaf al-Qummiy who said: narrated to me Muhammad bin al-Husayn bin Abi al-Khattab AND al-Hasan bin Musa al-Khashab (both of them) from Safwan bin Yahya from Ishaq bin Ammaar who said: Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: Bashar - the barley seller - is a devil, the son of a devil, he came out from the sea and led my companions astray.

(NOTE: This Bashar was a pillar of the Ghulat of his time who deified Ali, and made our prophet subordinate to him, more will follow about him)

حدثني أحمد بن محمد بن يعقوب، قال أخبرني عبد الله بن حمدويه، قال حدثني محمد بن عيسى، عن بشير، عن الأرقط، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) ، قال، : لما دفن أبو عبيدة الحذاء، قال، قال انطلق بنا حتى نصلي على أبي عبيدة قال فانطلقنا فلما انتهينا إلى قبره لم يزد على أن دعا له، فقال اللهم برد على أبي عبيدة اللهم نور له قبره اللهم ألحقه بنبيه، و لم يصل عليه، فقلت له هل على الميت صلاة بعد الدفن قال لا إنما هو الدعاء له

687. Narrated to me Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Yaqub who said: reported to me Abdallah bin Hamdawayh who said: narrated to me Muhammad bin Isa from Bashir from al-Arqat from Abi Abdillah عليه السلام, he (al-Arqat) said: when Abu Ubayda - the shoe maker - was buried, Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said to me: accompany me so that we can go and pray over Abu Ubayda, he (al-Arqat) said: we went, so when we had reached his grave - he عليه السلام made Dua for him, and he عليه السلام said (in his Dua): 'O Allah, make it cool for Abu Ubayda, O Allah, enlighten for him his grave, O Allah, make him meet his prophet' - but he عليه السلام did not make Salat for him, so I said: is there for the dead any Salat after he is buried, he عليه السلام said: no, there is only Dua for him.

حمدويه و إبراهيم ابنا نصير، قالا حدثنا أيوب بن نوح، عن عبد الله بن المغيرة، قال حدثنا محمد بن حسان، قال : سمعت أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) يتلو هذه الآية فَإِنْ يَكْفُرْ بِها هؤُلاءِ فَقَدْ وَكَّلْنا بِها قَوْماً لَيْسُوا بِها بِكافِرِينَ، ثم أهوى بيده إلينا، و نحن جماعة فينا جميل بن دراج و غيره، فقلنا أجل و الله جعلت فداك لا نكفر بها

467. Hamdawayh AND Ibrahim the sons of Nasiyr both of whom said: narrated to us Ayyub bin Nuh from Abdallah bin al-Mughira who said: narrated to us Muhammad bin Hasaan who said: I heard Aba Abdillah عليه السلام reciting this verse - 'but if they disbelieve in it - then we have entrusted it to a people who do not disbelieve in it' (6:89), then he pointed with his hand towards us, and we were a group, among us was Jamil bin Darraj and others apart from him, so we said to him: yes by Allah, may we be made your ransom, we will not disbelieve in it (i.e. the Wilayah)

محمد بن مسعود، قال حدثني علي بن محمد، قال حدثني محمد بن أحمد، عن محمد بن موسى الهمداني، عن منصور بن العباس، عن مروك بن عبيد، عمن رواه، عن زيد الشحام، قال، : قلت لأبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) اسمي في تلك الأسامي يعني في كتاب أصحاب اليمين قال نعم


618. Muhammad bin Masud who said: narrated to me Ali bin Muhammad who said: narrated to me Muhammad bin Ahmad from Muhammad bin Musa al-Hamdaniy from Mansur bin al-Abbas from Maruwk bin Ubayd from the one who narrated to him from Zayd al-Shahham who said: I said to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام - is my name among those names - that is the names present in the book of the companions of the right hand-side (i.e. true followers of the Aimmah and the people of Jannah), he عليه السلام said: yes.

حمدويه، قال حدثني محمد بن عيسى بن عبيد و يعقوب بن يزيد، عن ابن أبي عمير، عن أبي العباس البقباق، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) أنه قال : أربعة أحب الناس إلي أحياء و أمواتا، بريد بن معاوية العجلي و زرارة بن أعين و محمد بن مسلم و أبو جعفر الأحول، أحب الناس إلي أحياء و أمواتا

326. Hamdawayh who said: narrated to me Muhammad bin Isa bin Ubayd AND Yaqub bin Yazid from Ibn Abi Umayr from Abi al-Abbas al-Baqbaaq from Abi Abdillah عليه السلام, that he عليه السلام said: four are the most beloved persons to me - alive and dead, Burayd bin Muawiya al-Ijliy, Zurara bin A'yan, Muhammad bin Muslim and Abu Ja'far al-Ahwal, the most beloved persons to me - alive and dead.

محمد بن الحسن البراني و عثمان بن حامد الكشيان قالا حدثنا محمد بن يزداد، عن محمد بن الحسين، عن الحجال، عن هشام بن سالم قال : كلمت رجلا بالمدينة من بني مخزوم في الإمامة، قال، فقال فمن الإمام اليوم قال، قلت جعفر بن محمد. قال، فقال و الله لأقولنها له قال، فغمني بذلك غما شديدا خوفا أن يلعني أبو عبد الله أو يتبرأ مني، قال، فأتاه المخزومي فدخل عليه، فجرى الحديث، قال، فقال له مقالة هشام، قال، فقال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام) أ فلا نظرت في قوله فنحن لذلك أهل، قال، فبقي الرجل لا يدري أيش يقول و قطع به، قال، فبلغ هشاما قول أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) ففرح بذلك و انجلت غمته


501. Muhammad bin al-Hasan al-Baraniy AND Uthman bin Hamid both of whom said: narrated to us Muhammad bin Yazdad from Muhammad bin al-Husayn from al-Hajjal from Hisham bin Salim who said: I debated with a man from Madina, from the tribe of Makhzum, about the Imamah, so he (i.e. the man) said to me: so who then is the Imam today? I (i.e. Hisham) said: Ja'far bin Muhammad, so he (i.e. the man) said to me: by Allah, I am going to ask him about this (i.e. what you have just said), he (i.e. Hisham) said: this threat of his grieved me greatly, and I was afraid that Abu Abdillah would curse me and disassociate from me (i.e. for divulging the secret of the Imamah openly in the heat of the debate), he (i.e. someone lower in the chain) said: so the man from the tribe of Makhzum entered upon him (i.e. Abi Abdillah عليه السلام) and started conversing with him, then he repeated for him the words that Hisham had said to him, so Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said to the man - have you not pondered over his (i.e. Hisham's) words, are we not deserving of that (i.e. the Imamah)?, so the man started to cry, not knowing what to say, and believed in his Imamah, so when the words of Abu Abdillah عليه السلام to that man were reported to Hisham, he became happy and his grief and fear abated.

روى عن محمد بن أحمد، عن محمد بن الحسين، عن الحسن بن علي الصيرفي، عن صالح بن سهل، قال، : كنت أقول في أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) بالربوبية، فدخلت عليه فلما نظر إلي قال يا صالح إنا و الله عبيد مخلوقون لنا رب نعبده و إن لم نعبده عذبنا

632. Narrated Muhammad bin Ahmad from Muhammad bin al-Husayn from al-Hasan bin Ali al-Sayrafi from Salih bin Sahl who said: I used to believe in the divinity of Abi Abdillah عليه السلام, so I entered upon him one day, so when he saw me, he عليه السلام said: O Salih, we are by Allah - created slaves, we have a lord whom we worship, and if we do not worship Him then he punishes us.

محمد بن مسعود، قال حدثني علي بن الحسن، عن أبيه، عن إبراهيم بن محمد الأشعري، عن عبيدة بن زرارة و الحسن بن جهم بن بكير، عن عمه عبد الله بن بكير، عن عبيد بن زرارة، قال، : كنت عند أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) فذكر بكير بن أعين فقال رحم الله بكيرا و قد فعل، فنظرت إليه و كنت يومئذ حديث السن، فقال إني أقول إن شاء الله

316. Muhammad bin Masud who said: narrated to me Ali bin al-Hasan from his father from Ibrahim bin Muhammad al-Ash'ariy from Ubayd bin Zurara AND al-Hasan bin Jahm bin Bukayr from his uncle Abdallah bin Bukayr from Ubayd bin Zurara who said: I was with Abi Abdillah عليه السلام when Bukayr bin A'yan was mentioned, so he عليه السلام said: may Allah have mercy on Bukayr, and He has done it (i.e. already), so I (Ubayd) looked at him (i.e. in disbelief, as to how could one speak for Allah in such a way), and I (i.e. Ubayd) was then - young in age (i.e. he is excusing himself), so he عليه السلام said: I do say (i.e. mean) 'If Allah wills'.

روى محمد بن غالب، عن محمد بن الوليد الخزاز، عن ابن بكير، عن عبد الواحد بن المختار الأنصاري قال : سألت أبا عبد الله (عليه السلام) عن الشطرنج فقال إن عبد الواحد لفي شغل عن اللعب قال ابن بكير عبد الواحد ما كان عندي يذكر اللعب حتى يسأل عنه أبا عبد الله عليه السلام

631. Narrated Muhammad bin Ghalib from Muhammad bin al-Walid al-Khazzaz from Ibn Bukayr from Abd al-Wahid bin al-Mukhtar al-Ansariy who said: I asked Aba Abdillah عليه السلام about chess, so he عليه السلام said: the slave of the One (i.e. Abd al-Wahid) has abandoned work in favour of play!? Ibn Bukayr said: there never was a game mentioned in our presence except that Abd al-Wahid used to ask Aba Abdillah عليه السلام about it.

حدثني خلف بن حماد، عن أبي سعيد الآدمي، عن موسى بن سلام، عن الحكم بن مسكين، عن عيص بن القاسم قال، : دخلت على أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) مع خالي سليمان بن خالد، فقال لخالي من هذا الفتى قال هذا ابن أختي، قال فيعرف أمركم فقال له نعم، فقال الحمد لله الذي لم يجعله شيطانا، ثم قال يا ليتني و إياكم بالطائف أحدثكم و تؤنسوني، و تضمن لهم ألا يخرج عليهم أبدا

669. Narrated to me Khalaf bin Hammad from Abi Said al-Adamiy from Musa bin Salaam from al-Hakam bin Miskiyn from Iys bin al-Qasim who said: I entered upon Abi Abdillah عليه السلام together with my maternal uncle - Sulayman bin Khalid - so he عليه السلام said to my maternal uncle (i.e. Sulayman bin Khalid) - who is this young man? he (i.e. Sulayman) said: this is the son of my sister, he عليه السلام said: does he know your affair (i.e. believe in the Wilayah), so he (i.e. Sulayman) said: yes, so he عليه السلام said: praise be to Allah who has not made him a Shaytan, then he عليه السلام said: if only you people (i.e. Shias) and me could be together in Taif, where I narrate to you, and you comfort me (i.e. by your listening to me), and we guarantee for them (i.e. the tyrant rulers) that we will never revolt against them (i.e. the Imam longs for peace from the Fitnah of the tyrants and continous unripe rebellions).

علي بن محمد، قال حدثني بنان بن محمد، عن علي بن مهزيار، عن محمد بن إسماعيل بن بزيع، قال : سألت أبا جعفر (عليه السلام) أن يأمر لي بقميص من قمصه أعده لكفني، فبعث به إلي، قال، فقلت له كيف أصنع به جعلت فداك، قال انزع أزراره

450. Ali bin Muhammad who said: narrated to me Bunan bin Muhammad from Ali bin Mahziyar from Muhammad bin Ismail bin Baziy who said: I asked Aba Ja'far (i.e. al-Jawad) عليه السلام to send me a long shirt (i.e. upper garment) from among his shirts which I can keep to be used as my Kafan (i.e. burial shroud), so he sent it to me, so I said to him - how do I use it? - may I be made your ransom, so he عليه السلام said: cut out from it its buttons.



محمد بن مسعود و محمد بن الحسن البراني، قالا حدثنا إبراهيم بن محمد بن فارس، عن أحمد بن الحسن، عن علي بن يعقوب، عن مروان بن مسلم، عن عمار الساباطي، قال : قال سليمان بن خالد لأبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) و أنا جالس إني منذ عرفت هذا الأمر أصلي في كل يوم صلاتين أقضي ما فاتني قبل معرفته، قال لا تفعل فإن الحال التي كنت عليها أعظم من ترك ما تركت من الصلاة

667. Muhammad bin Masud AND Muhammad bin al-Hasan al-Baraniy both of whom said: narrated to us Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Faris from Ahmad bin al-Hasan from Ali bin Yaqub from Marwan bin Muslim from Ammaar al-Sabatiy who said: Sulayman bin Khalid said to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام while I was seated (with them) - ever since I have known this affair (i.e. converted to Tashayyu) I have been praying every day twice (i.e. in each Salat) - repaying what was lost in my prayers before I obtained the Ma'rifah (i.e. of Wilayah), so he عليه السلام said: do not do so, for the general condition you were in (i.e. with the lack of belief in Wilayah) was graver (i.e. more serious in disobedience) from what you left out in your Salat.
