Pakistani Shia Muslims celebrate the birth anniversaries of Imam Hussain, his brother al-Abbas and his sister Lady Zainab, peace be upon them, with religious enthusiasm and reverence all over Pakistan .
Till Monday night, celebrations to mark the birth anniversary of al-Abbas, peace be upon him, continued. Anniversary of Imam Hussain’s birthday was celebrated from Saturday night to Sunday and birth anniversary of Lady Zainab, peace be upon her, from Thursday night to Friday.
Shia majority areas were illuminated and decorated beautifully. Shia Muslims wore new cloths and used scents to express their pleasure and also distributed gifts among children.
Special prayers were held alongside congregations of prose and poetry to commemorate the birth anniversary of the third infallible Imam of Shia Islam, his brother and his sister. Poets recited poems to eulogize the Imam. Religious speakers highlighted various aspects of the holy life of Imam Hussain, al-Abbas and Lady Zainab, peace be upon them.
