Al-Hashd al-Shaabi foiled an attack by ISIS on Qamishli, which is predominantly inhabited by Kurds, southwest of Tal Afar.
According to the military spokesperson, al-Hashd al-Shaabi “confronted the biggest attack by ISIS against Qamishli, west of Mosul.” The troops “set more than six booby-trapped motorbikes on fire, killing those on board.”
The spokesperson added that ISIS was attempting to escape toward Baaj.
Qamishliis considered a pivotal point between Tal Afar and Sinjar, as well as being one of the strategic towns that used to be a source of ISIS attacks against al-Hashd al-Shaabi west of Tal Afar.
